Double Exposure

As this the artist of these 3 pieces, what was your main objective?

My main objective was to make 3 clean pieces.

What tools did we primarily use for this project?

The selection tool and the dodge and burn tool.

What were some of the challenges you faced during this project?

When I was doing the Heath Ledger project I had a problem getting the actual picture to show through Ledger’s actual picture.

One of the requirements for the Double Exposure and the Duo-Tone project was to remove the backgrounds of your images. I what tools or techniques did you use to remove it?Were there some tools or techniques that worked better for you than others?

To get rid of the background, I created a new background layer and deleted the selection I made.

What are the advantages of using a Layer Mask to create the effect?

The advantages are that you can mess around with the picture, you don’t have to worry about messing anything up because you have a duplicate.

For the Duo-Tone, you had to experiment with mixing Channels and Background colors. Did you try something different with you background like a Gradient?

No I did not, I wanted to keep the picture clean. When I changed the background color from black it would change the colors of my pictures.
